Room to Read at the Made in Roath Arts Festival

Just as it seems Room to Read has been packed into a cosy box of straw for the winter, along comes the chance for one final outdoor event.

Saturday 16th October

12 mid-day until 12.30

Everyone and anyone can join in. Just pick up a book you love and want to share – out loud. Then bring it to outside Penylan Library (Wellfield Road/Ninian Road junction), Roath, Cardiff, just before 12. At mid-day everyone starts reading aloud, simultaneously, for as long or as briefly as they wish, until 12.30.

Help play your part in this buzzing community-based Festival by creating an inverted mirror of Penylan Library - people reading outside not indoors, people standing to read not sitting, reading aloud not in silence, in public not private, amongst movement and noise not comparative quiet and rest - you've got the picture by now.

One participant has said of Room to Read ‘There’s something very special about this’. Come along, take part, and find out for yourself what it is.

And there’s a multitude of other events going on too. www.madeinroath.com/ has all the details.

To see more info on past Room to Reads go to the Love Reading Facebook profile. We’re looking forward to seeing you Saturday 16th October at Made in Roath. (Oh, and bring an umbrella if it’s raining!)
