Jacob Gough, who has been production manager on a number of NTW's projects is also very involved in the Freedom Theatre in Jenin, Palestine.  He contacted us today with the terrible news that Juliano Mer-Khamis, the director of this pioneering company has been shot dead.  More information on sad and shocking event here.  Our thoughts and deep sympathy go out to the members of Freedom Theatre, and to Juliano's family and friends.

In Jacob's words:

"All I ask is for you to take a moment to look at the Freedom Theatre Website www.thefreedomtheatre.org and/or the Youtube channel www.youtube.com/user/thefreedomtheatre and see what Juliano gave his life for.  This project is hugely important to the youth and people of Jenin Refugee camp and Palestine as a whole and those of us at the Freedom Theatre will not let the project die with Juliano."

The work Juliano created and the vision he had was very admirable. I worked with someone last year who had the experience to film him. Wouldn't it be great if we could sponsor a young person from Freedom Theatre to come here for an exchange? Is this possible or is leaving the refugee camp impossible?
