Shelf Life: Secret spaces and censored scribbles...

To boldly go. . . where no blog post has gone before...
(well, sort of)

Those of you who used to go to Swansea Old Library (when it was a working library, so it was... y'know, plain old Swansea Library) probably noticed the glass dome. Those of you who didn't go there when it was a library but saw it on Dr. Who. . .probably didn't see the glass dome, because you were:

1. staring at David Tennant/some girl on the show
2. covering your hands with your eyes
3. asleep
Anyway.. I digress. There's a glass dome (a fake one, actually) and a load of people gave it one heck of a clean.

Check it out below:

DIRTY/CLEAN DOME.

It's like a before and after in a cleaning advert.

Seriously good job on the cleaning!!! : )

DOME-SPACE

The public won't be allowed in this space... so all the more reason to have a look now!

Does it remind anyone else of a bit from a pirate ship?????

DOME GLASS

The dome glass from the other side.

As promised a few days ago... at Shelf Life a LOT of interesting graffiti was uncovered in the Old Library. Here's just a little bit of it.
(Its censored.. for your own safety... and the safety of anyone looking over your shoulder at this post)

WRITE - ON?

Q. WHERE WOULD THE WORLD BE WITHOUT LIBRARIANS?
A. IN THE PUB GETTING ******.

Have you ever written graffiti in a library? Have you ever wanted to?

WHERE DO YOU THINK THE WORLD WOULD BE WITHOUT LIBRARIANS?

It was disgustingly dirty up there! Looks good now though... especially when it's all turned on! =]

Yeah, I should point out that Fiona took all the pictures of inside the dome. (I am a giant wuss who doesn't like heights)

Thanks Fiona! :)
