Following two days of intense rehearsal on David Lee Smith's new play SUPERNOVA we opened the doors to a sharing last Thursday evening.  With an amazing cast comprising Matthew Aubrey, Adam Redmore, Bethan Witcombe, Zoe Davies, Oliver Wood, Arwel Rees and Gareth Jewel we had a rehearsed reading - on our feet, script in hand.  The actors really did an amazing job - and I so enjoyed working with everyone.

The reading was followed by an invaluable feedback session.

It was a really exciting couple of days - and as I had always expected, Dave's words flew off the page.  I'd like to thank all the actors for their amazing contributions - and S.M. Fiona for her quietly super-efficient behind the scenes activity!

When working intensively on a new play it can become a bit 'wood for trees'  - so the comments from the outside eyes were invaluable, and supports many of our instincts.... I think that Dave is in a really strong place to develop his next draft.

The reading confirmed for me that Dave really is an exciting new voice.

Thanks to all of you who joined us - and to NTW for their support... and to Abdul for his help.

We'd welcome any further feedback.....

Dave and Louise. So sorry that I wasn't able to make it along to this. Would've have loved to have seen the reading. Look forward to seeing the next incarnation of the piece somewhere soon. Hope all is well at LAMDA, Dave. Send my regards to the gang. And catch you both soon hopefully. M X
