I have been working alongside the production team for The Gathering for the past two weeks, the production is taking place in the foot hills of Snowdonia on a National Trust owned sheep farm.

On our first day on location we toured the site and the route of the performance, which follows a Stream up the side of the mountain, past old farm buildings, beautiful waterfalls and picturesque views of the surrounding valleys. I have been helping mostly with technical side of the piece which has been; setting up lights, sound systems, projectors and screens around the farm and along the valley. This is a completely different process to what I am used to as I normally work as an in house technician at a small theatre in West Wales, where all the work is based on a day’s fit up, performance and get out. So having this time to take a trial and error approach at working is a very exciting and a unique experience.    

Working in this amazing location has been and I’m sure will continue to be for the remaining week an incredible experience, I’m really looking forward to seeing the performance in its entirety at the end of this week.
