Tell us your story of Swansea’s Palace Theatre!

IamNEWS are producing a viral film to draw attention to the ongoing troubles surrounding the future of Swansea's Palace Theatre, the issues facing the building and the surrounding community's future.

The iconic Palace Theatre has meant much to many since its opening on Swansea's High Street in 1888. It's provided entertainment to thousands, as a music hall venue hosting the likes of Charlie Chaplin and Marie Lloyd, as Jingles Club in the early 80's and The Palace Nightclub in the 90’s.

As Swansea City Centre gets remapped, rebuilt and modernised into a European Boulevard City, The Palace's continued presence on High Street stands as an important feature of the City's cultural life and the value and scope of its past.

Tell us your experiences, stories, thoughts, ideas and frustrations about the Palace Theatre Building:

What memories do you have of the building when it was in use?

Do you remember going there when it was a club or theatre?

Have you performed, played a gig or DJ’d there?

What would do think should be done about the building?

Is it an just an eyesore or a cause worth fighting for?

We want to hear from as many people as possible about The Palace. Let's illustrate its significance to Swansea city, and raise awareness of the issues facing the building and the surrounding community's future.

Get in touch and tell us your story!
