THE NEED FOR ROOTS - by Celtic Radical

A duet created by internationally acclaimed choreographers and performers Siriol Joyner & Ruairí Donovan. Both artists were awarded and met during the prestigious danceWEB scholarship 2011 at ImPulsTanz Vienna International Dance Festival and have been working in partnership since under the name CELTIC RADICAL.

 

Ruairi Donovan (Choreographer and Performer) from Cork in Ireland is a performance maker working in dance and live art. Amongst others he has worked with Daghdha Dance Company and with acclaimed choreographer/dancers Marten Spangberg and Keith Hennessey across Europe and in the USA, as well as presenting his own work internationally. Siriol Joyner (Choreographer and Artist) from Aberystwyth originally trained as a classical dancer with the Royal Ballet Associates and was later an Associate Member of National Dance Company Wales. She studied Fine Art at Oxford University with a focus on dance and visual arts practices. She is artist in residence at Cwmni Theatr Arad Goch, Aberystwyth and recently joined Aberystwyth Arts Centre as an Associate Artist and Dance Buddy as part of Wales Dance Consortium.
