The Old Post Office, Castlemartin- WalesLab

For our research week of Norman & Judith, we are staying in the remote and picturesque village of Castlemartin. Our residence is "The Old Post Office"- now a stunning holiday conversion of it's former functional post office self.

As the post office( and it's First Day Covers) are at the heart of our project, we thought it apt to base ourselves in a former P.O- taking the building as an aspect of inspiration.

Catlemartin itself is a quaint village with a little community hall, an army firing range, a church and a road leading to the most breathtaking bay- Freshwater west.

We've been told by our landlady that a "Community Cafe" takes place on the weekend in the hall, and we may even meet neighbours who were alive whilst the post office was up and running. Tea, cake and conversation ahoy!

This location is proving to be a wonderful retreat away from city life, allowing us the time and space to research and develop.
