The Radicalisation of Bradley Manning at Tasker Milward School

For the past three nights National Theatre Wales' current production The Radicalisation of Bradley Manning has been performed at Tasker Milward School.

Taskers is Bradley's old school, and it has been a very emotional experience taking the production there. The play has had a great response from audiences in Pembrokshire and it seems that people want to talk after the show. The Bradley Manning campaign has been holding vigils and protests around Haverfordwest using the play as a fulcrum for the campaign in April.

Tonight was a particularly moving night for those involved with the play as Bradley's mother was in the audience. I can't imagine how difficult this must have been for her. Tonight was also the first night of the global livecast which I'm sure Tom will post more about, but it seems from the comments to have been a great success. Congratulations to Tom for his ground-breaking work.

The cast have done a remarkable job in bringing Bradley to life. I think all of us are having a growing sense that this is a special production - NTW has created the perfect marriage of form and content. In a story where a Welsh boy changes the world, tonight NTW took a play to the heart of a community and in the process, managed the extraordinary feat of  connecting Bradley's Welsh family, to his global family.

Thank you NTW.
