WalesLab Pollinate is over for this year.

I look tired. I feel tired but its not surprising as for the last two weeks i've been holed up in the beautiful Elan Valley with these 17 artists and a documentary maker.

If you don't know where it is, this is how to get there from Cardiff:

I was there to run the first WalesLab pollinate summer camp. Where artists from Wales and beyond could come together and develop new work in a supportive environment, be inspired by the landscape and have the daily pressures taken away.

Over the two weeks we walked, talked, fell in the water, got bitten by midges, played with ideas, made one-on-one performances, responded to our environment, gained critical friends and shared where we had got to over the week. We had visits from other NTW staff, Jen & Cat delivered a workshop on press & marketing and Nick from Arts Council Wales came and demystified the funding process.

What came out of it? Only time will tell, but I'm hopeful that a number of the projects that were being developed will have a future life, so it's very much a watch this space moment.

If you want to know what the participants felt about it you can catch up with their video diaries in the WalesLab group, along with details on how to apply for the next round of WalesLab projects.
