Soon to go into rehearsal with "Wemberlee! Wemberlee!" for Fluellen Theatre Company. This play has been specially written for the company by Peter Read, and follows on from their previous collaborations with two other hugely successful plays centred on Swansea City Football Club.

The previous two, "Toshack Or Me!" and "To Hull And Back" all played to packed houses at Swansea`s Grand Theatre, with fans of the Swans making up the vast majority of the audience.

"Wemberlee! Wemberlee!" centres on the Play-off final at Wembley last May, in which the Swans became the first ever Welsh football club to play in the Premier League. Based very loosely on Chaucer`s "Canterbury Tales" it stars Kevin Johns, (who has appeared in the two previous plays) as Lee "Chaucer" Davies, the worst poet in Wales, but the Swans` greatest fan. He and a mixed group of supporters travel to see the big match.

Peter Read has delivered a very funny script, full of great verbal and visual gags, and I`m looking forward to directing it enormously. It plays at the Grand Theatre Arts Wing from February 21st - 24th 7.15pm with a matinee on the 22nd at 2.00pm.

Because of the explosive content of the play, the production will not be touring anywhere in the vicinity of Cardiff !!!
