Hey All

Happy world book day! Today myself and TEAM member Elgan Rhys went to the rainy Merthyr Tydfil to lead some World Book Day workshops. We did three workshops with three very different schools from all over Merthyr in the beautiful St Tydfil's church. The workshop was aimed at bringing the children's favourite book characters to life through a series of character and storytelling exercises. We arrived there this morning to be impressed with the days programming all organised by the community and a woman named Helen. There were stalls and various other workshops happening all over the town and everyone was dressed up for the occasion.

We arrived at the church in desperate need of a cuppa to be greeted by 44 aged 7-10years olds all clutching their favourite book. We met a really lovely man who runs the local bell ringing society and offered him a place on our workshops to which he declined. Overall I think it was a great experience and loads of fun. The children seemed to enjoy themselves and it's great to see the whole Merthyr community supporting and trying to encourage creativity.  As the day progressed , the weather got worse , time was getting on and we had finished with our last group and ready to return to Cardiff

Thanks TEAM for the opportunity and a Happy World Book Day

I know some children who were at the World Boom Day celebrations in Merthyr singing in the choir and they all had a great day. Sounds like you did a fab job :)
