APOCALYPSO: The Last Bar On Earth

THE END IS COMING... When making a play about the end of the world, it'd be hard to not be too over dramatic... So instead we are embracing that instinct and whacking up to eleven. Profile Information

What I do:
Co-Director of Tin Shed Theatre Co - Theatre Maker - Performer - Workshop Facilitator - Digital Artist
A little more about me:
I’m a South Wales based Theatre Maker involved in the devising, writing and performance phases of theatre and live art; making work as an individual, a co-collaborator and as part of Tin Shed Theatre Co.

Over the past 8 years I have developed and performed work in the UK and internationally with; The Bristol Old Vic, National Theatre Wales, China Plate's Optimist Scheme, Battersea Arts Centre, Likely Story, Mr & Mrs Clark, We Made This, Theatr Iolo, San Diego Fringe Festival, Alma Alter: Bulgaria, and The Birmingham REP.

My work is often absurdist, and concerns it’s self with themes of anti-comedy, surreal approaches to everyday subjects, mental health, tomfoolery, satire, and autobiographical explorations.

My writing exists inside and outside of a theatre process; writing short stories, poetry, pieces of spoken word, and online content, as well as developing my own podcast DarkSpace, as well as being an occasional guest writer for Wales Arts Review.

As a Freelance Workshop Facilitator I specialise in working with children and young adults in Devising Drama, and Creative/Experiential Learning.
Location:
Newport
Projects I’m working on:
As part of Tin Shed Theatre Co. we have just finished creating a piece of fun clown-inspired performance-caberate aimed at touring outdoor music and theatre festivals.

As part of my work with PeterJustin I am currently creating a collection of digital explorations that examine the social processes that take place when attempting to find love online, with a wider peek at how digital technologies are effecting us as a people.

Personally I have recently become obsessed with animal iconography and our connection to animals. Whether it be because we're scared of them, in love with them or eating them, Through this exploration I have stumbled upon a greater connection to the animal kingdom, one I made when I was a child. A hopeful, blissful child who bathed in wonderment, now I'm a shitty adult... Through this exploration I am developing the performance persona TigerFace.

You're booked in to Dirty, Gifted & Welsh - time is now on the blog.

Please remember to bring enough copies of your script and arrive in plenty of time for your slot.

All the best and good luck!

Hey man, hows things? yeah, all good my end - just starting to get through the 500GB of footage from Wales Lab, cheers for doing loads of video diaries btw - they're really helping me to piece the whole thing back together... What are you working on at the moment?

thanks for a the speedy reply. I am ashamed to say that I have lived in newport for almost 23 years and I have never heard of this place. Ill make it my mission this week though it go and have a look around. Your right btw about there not being a good way to find out whats going on in Newport, it really does need a bit of a kick up the bum. It makes it too easy to gravitate towards Cardiff for all your artistic cravings.
