What I do:
Director, Movement Director
A little more about me:
I am a theatre maker eager to connect and collaborate with other Welsh artists. I'm particularly interested in theatre that speaks to and shares stories from specific communities, such as BAME and LGBT+. Below is my more formal biog!

Sita is a Creative Associate at Watford Palace Theatre and has worked as a trainee Artistic Director at the Bush Theatre. She holds a Masters in Movement Direction (Royal Central School of Speech and Drama) and recently completed her PhD examining issues of cultural diversity in Shakespearean performance (University of Warwick).

Upcoming work as Director includes a Located Residency with National Theatre Wales developing a verbatim piece of physical theatre Queer Tales, an Artist Residency at Arts Depot developing a piece of theatre for children, and Staff Director of Caryl Churchill’s Top Girls at the National Theatre.

Theatre as Director: Beyond the Canon (RADA), An Accountant Talks Us Through His Sartorial Choices (Old Vic), The Rose and the Bulbul (Stockwood Park, Horniman and Geffrye Museums). Theatre as Assistant Director includes: Pity (Royal Court); Mass (Southbank Centre); Peter Pan Goes Wrong (UK Tour). Theatre as Associate Director: Bitched (Tristan Bates); Zigger Zagger (Wilton’s Musical Hall). Theatre as Choreographer: Jack and the Beanstalk and Aladdin (Watford Palace). Theatre as Movement Director: Sisters (National Theatre Wales), Much Ado About Nothing (Watford Palace). Other credits include Behind the Beautiful Forevers (National Theatre), Changing Minds and Truce (New Wimbledon Theatre) and the London 2012 Olympic Welcome Ceremonies.

Sita creates and facilitates drama, dance and storytelling workshops for people of all ages and has worked for the British Library, Science Museum, Eastside Educational Trust, West End in Schools, and many more. As a film producer/director, Sita created a series of films about Movement for the National Theatre including work with Frantic Assembly that can be found on the NT website and YouTube channel. They currently have over 800,000 views.

Sita is also a presenter of Channel 5’s children’s television programme milkshake! and performed in the 18-month UK theatre tour of Milkshake Live: The Magic Story Book.
