A little more about me:
Wendy Hubbard is a director, dramaturg, writer and researcher.

Recent work includes directing Chris Goode’s solo show The Adventures of Wound Man and Shirley (Pleasance, Edinburgh and National Tour, 2011-12), and his solo-show-with guest-performers God/Head (Oval House and Theatre in the Mill, Bradford, 2012). In 2011 and 2012 she was also Outside Eye and Collaborator on Melanie Wilson’s Autobiographer (International Tour 2011/ Arts Admin 2012). In recent years she has directed Goode’s solo show Kiss of Life (Sydney Opera House, 2007), and worked with him as AD on his …Sisters (The Gate, 2008) and Speed Death of the Radiant Child (The Drum, Theatre Royal Plymouth, 2007).

Wendy's work as co-director of theatre company Mapping4D includes The Pink Bits, which was winner of the Oxford Samuel Beckett Theatre Trust Award, 2004 (Riverside Studios). Other work with Mapping4D includes dance/theatre negotiation Consequences, (Resolution! at The Place and, BAC as part of the Forest Fringe micro-festival 2010); Slender (BAC, 2006); Vertigo (CPT, 2004) and Little English (CPT, 2002).

Projects I’m working on:
Wendy is currently researching her PhD at Queen Mary, University of London.

She is also developing a new project about the English Revolution, working title Interregnum, with Gemma Brockis.

Under the Hooves of Horses: Waleslab

A quick post to share a week in June, when WalesLab supported me to start work on a new show (Under the Hooves of Horses) with two brilliant theatre-makers, and long-time friends and collaborators, Lucy Ellinson and Yael Shavit.

We worked in the excellent, bright rehearsal rooms of Y Galleri. We built and then re-built versions of the show on reams of flip-chart paper, we tried things, watched things, and shared research. Sometimes debates spilled out of the rehearsal room,…
