I have run Machynlleth lantern procession for the last 7 years. It is a community arts event with school and public workshops and community group participation to create individual and collaboratively built willow lanterns which then form a procession through the town as the main feature of an event that draws people to the area as well as being well supported by locals of all ages. From this I started delivering workshops for other organisations and more recently taking commissions for giant puppets, theatre and street theatre rigs. Each design is bespoke and to fit a brief, is visually high impact and can be designed and built by me or facilitated by me within a group or organisation.
Location:
Machynlleth
Projects I’m working on:
I currently have 4 commissions, a weekly art class for mature adults and my own studio. I am building a puppet for Machynlleth Comedy Festival, a street theatre rig for Harlech Castle, running a community engagement art project on the subject of climate change for CADW and am ready to deliver a collaborative sculpture that was made by a community through Theatre Hafren.
I'm always looking out for new and exciting things to be involved in especially with community engagement, social inclusion and profile building.
