Currently I am on a 2 week artist residency with Mathilde Lopez at Queensland University of Technology, invited here by Sean Mee, who we met through NTW. The mission is to facilitate connections between disciplines, students and local inhabitants, working towards the spectacle and events which will open their very shiny new Creative Industries Precinct (still under scaffolding), and herald a future of increased porosity for the institution. By which they mean accessibility and cross pollination. The termites are already busy with a different kind of porosity in the old structure.

The new precinct is a kind of multiplatform dream, loaded with super high tech infrastructure, where all the rooms can talk to each other,  and with the aim that the occupants will do the same. Built on the remnants of an Army Barracks, it's going to take some military style organisation to coordinate the dancers, games designers, roboticists, technicians, musicians, fashion designers, documentarists, animators, administrators, theatre makers, fine artists, knitters, ping pong players and the rest that we haven't yet met. Hoping to see some kangaroos tomorrow.
