Awen Bus - Administrator/Tour Booker Opportunity

The Awen bus is part of the Ar Waith Ar Daith programme of events, a magical celebration for the tenth anniversary of Wales Millennium Centre, created by outdoor arts experts Walk the Plank.

Awen Schools, three outdoor training schools for arts practitioners, have taken place across Wales.

The Awen bus tour will take place in August until the beginning of September, and the finale event takes place in Cardiff Bay on Saturday 12th September 2015.

Wales Millennium Centre’s bus will be kitted out with high end technology, a stage, a kitchenette, and a lounge. The Awen bus will travel the length and breadth of Wales, meeting and engaging with artists, performers and public alike, creating short web-friendly video showcases of artwork and digitally connecting everybody to a magic cauldron in the foyer of the Wales Millennium Centre.

The Awen bus and magic cauldron project is the brainchild of the digital artist, NativeHQ. Drawing from the Welsh word “awen” (muse or inspiration) in the building’s inscription, the magic cauldron of inspiration is a key part of the creative vision for the project.

Visitors to the Centre will activate the magic cauldron in the foyer and will be able to communicate live with the team on the bus. When the bus is offline the cauldron will play videos of recent tour encounters and performances.

The bus team will be made up of:

  • Host/Presenter
  • Bus Driver/Tour Manager
  • Video Producer
  • Social Media Producer

The team will be supported by Walk the Plank, the Administrator/Tour Booker, the NativeHQ partners, and the Ar Waith Ar Daith Communications Manager. None of these will be based on the bus.

Walk the Plank are recruiting an Administrator/Tour Booker for the bus, to book the tour and routing of the bus, book accommodation, identify locations where the bus will be meeting artists and book artists to coordinate engagement with the bus project in their locale. The chosen person would also contribute to the recruitment of the bus team.
