How Do South Asian Communities in Wales Access Arts and Culture?

After the recent success of National Theatre Wales' 'Sisters', a work-in-progress, which shed light on what it means to be a South Asian woman today, my colleague, Radha Patel, and I are currently doing research on behalf of British Council Wales, in partnership with National Theatre Wales, to find out how various communities from the South Asian diaspora (specifically India, Pakistan, Bangladesh) access arts and culture in Wales.

We want to find out more about what activities South Asian communities engage in, and the barriers they may face in accessing different activities, as well as what they would like to see more of in the future.

To do so, we are looking to connect with individuals and groups through informal workshops and chats. This will be an opportunity for you to give your input on what you would like to see in your local community in terms of performances, workshops and so on.

As part of this, we are also conducting surveys! To give your input, click on any of the following links. It will take 5 minutes and you will be entered into a draw to win £50 vouchers to spend at The Purple Poppadom.
