* STAGE MANAGER CALL OUT *

August 012 are seeking a Stage Manager for Les Miserables by Victor Hugo, directed by Mathilde Lopez.

August 012 will stage the nineteen chapters dedicated to the battle of Waterloo in Les Miserables and embrace the complexity and absurdity of the bitter British victory whose outcome shocked the victorious and the vanquished, sending Europe into a turmoil. In parallel with Brexit.

We will be working with 10 to 15 dancers and 3 actors.

Applicants must be familiar with QLab softwares and technical stage management.

Desirable experience involves experience with large community casts, as well as a full UK driving license. The stage manager will work alongside the Production Manager and Producer.

Rehearsals: 11th-22nd March in Cardiff and Newport
Tech: 25th & 26th March

Performances: 27th March-30th March 2019 (Matinees Thursday-Saturday)

Location: Chapter Theatre

FEE: £500 per week (£1,500)

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Attending rehearsals.
  • Assisting with set maintenance.
  • Assisting with prop setting and maintenance.
  • Working alongside Production Manager on the get in and fit up.
  • To run the floor during the show and execute cues as required.
  • Creating & distributing daily rehearsal and show reports.
  • Assist with wardrobe laundry and maintenance during performance week.
  • Pastoral support of the company.
  • Other relevant tasks as requested by the Director and the company.

Person Specification

  • Experience of the devising process (desirable)
  • Full clean driving licence (desirable)
  • A self sufficient approach to work.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • A positive attitude.
  • A flexible approach and willingness to adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Desire to have fun and be creative in the workplace.
