The Hearth Centre are looking for interested parties following the ACE funded Work in progress project Save Europe Now/Friends For Enemies written by Polly Wight, of which there will be WIP performances taking place in Shropshire, Clywd, Birmingham and Brighton in March 2019.
The Project - Save Europe Now
The proposed project play is set in Clwyd towards the end of World War 2 and explores the impact of the presence of Italian POWs on farms and in the local community during the war. The story focuses on the interactions between Mario, a Northern Italian POW and farmers Dai and Elizabeth Williams, and the fault lines the war exposes both in their marriage and the community which existed in Wales at the time, and the emergence of the concept of post war European solidarity.
Save Europe Now has been funded by ACE to do an R&D short tour of the play- with the aim of applying to ACE again for funds for a bigger project of a full production. Please find more details here http://thehearthcentre.org.uk/prisoners-of-war-2/.
If you would like to offer your support for the continuation of the project either via sponsorship or as a project partner we would love to hear from you!
If you’re interested please send your details to polly.wright@btinternet.com Ccing in hollytrpn@gmail.com and we’ll get back to you with further information.
