The Project -  Friends of Enemies

Friends of Enemies is set in Clwyd  towards the end of World War 2 and explores the impact of the presence of Italian POWs on farms and in the local community during the war. The story focuses on the interactions between Mario, a Northern Italian POW and farmers Dai and Elizabeth Williams, and the fault lines the war exposes both in their marriage and  the community which existed in Wales at the time, and the emergence of the concept of post war European solidarity.

Friends of Enemies has been funded by ACE to do an R&D short tour of the play-  with the aim of applying to ACE again for funds for a bigger project of a full production. Please find more details here http://thehearthcentre.org.uk/prisoners-of-war-2/.

If you’re interested in the opportunity please send your details to polly.wright@btinternet.com Ccing in hollytrpn@gmail.com and we’ll get back to you with further information.
