Talented Presenters Required!

I'm looking for talented presenters/entertainers/all rounders to host quiz nights in several venues across Swansea and the surrounding areas. You might be a comedian, actor, musician, magician, or even a bus driver with star quality, as long as you are engaging and able to keep a room full of people entertained. Anyone can sit down and read out a list of questions, we pride ourselves on providing quality entertainment and our quizmasters are absolutely key to this. If you think this is you then get in touch. It would be great if you have a showreel/youtube footage etc but this is not essential.

Good rates of pay available plus incentives for developing your own regular following, contact me on NTW or directly on jonpitans@gmail.com

Hi everyone,

We are looking for a creative to come and join us for a week of research and development.
I’m Bethan Marlow and I’m a Welsh writer that’s about to embark on a very exciting r and d week (funded by ACW) at WMC with theatre director Mared Swain and artist and dancer Marega Palser.
Here’a a little information about the project-
Dates- Nov 23-27th,
Location- Weston studio, WMC.

As people all over Wales celebrate the anniversary of 150 years since the Welsh arrived in Patagonia, we have been questioning what exactly does it mean to have a group of people on the other side of the world speaking Welsh and hosting Eisteddfods? Is it not a little bizarre? 150 years on, are we even connected or have we both evolved to being two different nations?

The idea for our play takes us 150 years into the future where numerous languages are spoken in Wales and Welsh is just one of them. Also, Paradise has been found- a land where folk make the long, arduous pilgrimage there so they can speak pure Welsh and practise their traditions without threat. But when they arrive they find it’s not exactly what they imagined.

This play questions the suffocation of traditions and ancestry and explores the future of the Welsh language- both in the Promised Lands and in Wales.

And here’s what we’re looking for-

An actor, performer, poet or dancer, it doesn’t matter as long as you're excited to come and join us to explore our idea.

You can be aged 18-180.

You need to be able to speak at least one of the following languages- Polish, Urdu, Somali, Punjabi or Gujarati.

You also need to be confident in speaking English.

If you are interested please email me with some details about yourself and why you are interested in joining us at

bethan@bethanmarlow.com

Look forward to hearing from you,

Bethan

Hello... I'm mentoring a student on the puppetry course at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London and she is looking for two male performers to develop her piece: It's not a paid gig, but might be a nice opportunity to get some more puppetry experience. Drop her a line, if it's of interest and you're living down there...

Two male performers needed for scratch puppetry piece at Suspense Puppetry Festival 2015

I am third year puppetry student at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama seeking two male performers for a scratch of some devised, original work at the Suspense Puppetry Festival at the Pleasence Theatre on the 31st of October - 1st November.

The piece is based in shadow puppetry and tells the autobiographical story of my Grandmother who was saved by a random act of kindness in Poland during the Second World War.

There will be a workshop audition at The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama on October 17th. If you are interested in attending please Email Anna.Galek@cssd.ac.uk with a copy of your CV and a headshot.

This is an unpaid opportunity, but I am looking for future collaborations in terms of developing the piece and also funding applications for it's continuation.

Hi all. If anyone is free this evening, head down to The Other Room theatre at Porter's bar. They're doing a series of scratch nights for new theatre companies and tonight is the chance to catch DiatomiCo. performing a work that's in development from a brand new play 'Bucket of Flies' by Bruno Leon Chavez:

"You see a fly and you swat it, right? Because flies are filthy. Who wants flies spreading their germs all over your skin? Swat them. Break their legs. Crush their wings. Swat every last one. There should be a machine for swatting them all together. That would sort them."

But what if the flies can talk?

It's £5 entry and you'll all get the chance to have a chat about it over a drink once it's finished. Hope you can make it!

Hello there everyone. Are there any opportunities going in Cardiff for theatre at the moment? I'm a first class honours performing artist and I would love to get some experience for my actors CV? Thank you.

CALL OUT FOR ACTORS

Routes

Written & Directed by Ndidi Spencer

About the show:

Cardiff, June, 1919.  Violent race riots close in on Butetown, as Lleucu, a white nurse, wakes to her worst nightmare. Beaten by white thugs for her relationship with black activist, Raphael, she finds herself trapped in a house on the wrong side of the riots, in the firing line of enraged boarding mistress, Rose. Racial tension, violence, death and rejection suffocate them, but they are forced to set aside their differences to work together as united front.

Character Breakdown:

Rose

Black Caribbean, female, 40+. A wise, courageous woman. Rose was made a widow during the war, and now singlehandedly runs a boarding house on the bustling streets of Butetown. Well respected by the local community and afraid of no-one.

Lleucu

White, female, 25 +, Welsh. Typically courageous, but anxious, trapped on the wrong side of the race riots.  Under constant attack, Lleucu puts her life on the line to prove her loyalty and love for Raphael.

Raphael

Black Caribbean, male, 30+. Both a pilar of the community and an aggressor. Determined in his fight for justice, Raphael will stop at nothing, and fears no-one. A natural born leader, and a headman during the riots.

Rufus

Black Caribbean, male, 30+. Eccentric, subservient, and often impetuous. Rufus is Raphael's right hand man. Many fear his spontaneous, erratic nature.

Vaughan

White, male, 30+, Welsh. Lleucu's older brother. Arrogant, devious and valiant. His bold personality makes him a force not to be reckoned with.

Actors must be available during September and October 2015.

This is a paid opportunity.
