VINCENT RIVER by PHILIP RIDLEY - THIS WEDNESDAY, THURSDAY and FRIDAY ONLY!

It is the first time this play will have been staged in Wales, with special permission from Philip Ridley to relocate the setting from East London to Cardiff. It stars Victoria Pugh, whose previous work includes roles in TV dramas Hidden, Pobol y Cwm, and Rownd a Rownd.

"It is hard to ignore that although Vincent River was first produced in 2000, the issues of hate crime that are addressed are still painfully relevant eighteen years later. More insidious though, are the subtle, everyday attitudes that don't make the headlines, but that are complicit in maintaining a society where hate crime will happen. With our production, we hope to directly encourage louder conversations about how these issues affect the LGBT community in Wales." - Luke Hereford, director

I'm taking part in Theatr Iolo's Plattform programme this year, in partnership with The Riverfront in Newport.

Plattform is an artist development programme, this year the theme is making theatre for families.

There will be a weeks R&D in the last half of October and Im I interested in developing a show around climate and environment, about the decisions we make as adults and how they will effect future generations, about how we can create a more hopeful narrative. Im interested in creating labyrinth of unexpected spaces where a story can unfold through performance, sound and/or video.

Are you a designer (perhaps working with found materials), a sound designer, a poet, a performer, a musician, a digital or ANY OTHER KIND OF ARTIST based in Cardiff, Newport or Bristol who would like to be involved?

if so email me hello(at)gavinporter.co.uk or Im on Twitter @gavinPorter_ and lets meet for coffee.
