Hi Ace, thanks so much for the info, really helpful. They have been doing a project called imagined cities - not sure if that's the right translation - and they are apparently keen to do it in the UK with Chris and Hannah. I am working with Chris on a new play by a Mumbai based writer, its a co-production between Pritvi in Mumbai and Colchester Mercury. So, I'm trying to persuade them to the imagined cities project in a Welsh town and in Bangalore! I was interested in the slung lo project in Hull, which sadly I couldn't get to but which sounded great. I was at the theatre royal in Plymouth for a while and I did a development project, with local artists and the community around TR2, we asked them to map their immediate locality and then interpret it using dance light and film, after they had done this we threaded in new narratives, mainly written by those who had recently arrived in the city, from afghanistan and Iraq- it wasn't wholly successful, perhaps a little worthy, I realised too late. However, I've been wanting to return to the idea of how we imagine where we live and what surprises us when we really look, or when we look through someone else's eyes. I quite fancy a trip to Ghent too!
Thanks again
Bec
