Day 23 - The Process of Rising - My House Aberystwyth

7:35am
Alarm went off at 7am. Snoozed till 7:10am. It's now 7:35am..... lost 25 minutes somewhere. Clothes out of the drawer ready. Off for a shower.

7:47am
Out of the shower. Lavender baby bath and herbal essences conditioner. Fighting tiredness but pleased to be up. Let's see if i can get dressed by 8am. 12 minutes to go!

7:53am
Dressed. Still need to do hair. Put deodorant on. Go for breakfast. Drink tea. Important in order to shake the fatigue!

8:26am
Upstairs again. Packing lunch. Pair of Women's black high heeled boots?

8:43
Lunch made, teeth done. Bag packed. Drank a pint of water fast to try and wake up. Mug of green tea. Found important reading so thought I would take it with me on the bus. Rapid Response and my proposal along with several books and of course A Good Night Out

9:25
Blackwood Miners audio cd complete. 6 minute version and 18 minute version on a disc ready to take to the conference. Fingers crossed that they have something there to play it on. I'm expecting UPS to arrive before 10am to pick up my laptop. fingers crossed that they do because I need to get up to the porters lodge to catch the bus to Gregynog. I hear the door go downstairs. Dyfrig has gone to work.

9:35
I received a 2nd R.S Thomas Poem from a different friend this morning.

The Bright Fieldby R. S. Thomas

I have seen the sun break through

to illuminate a small field

for a while, and gone my way

and forgotten it. But that was the pearl

of great price, the one field that had

treasure in it. I realize now

that I must give all that I have

to possess it. Life is not hurrying

on to a receding future, nor hankering after

an imagined past. It is the turning

aside like Moses to the miracle

of the lit bush, to a brightness

that seemed as transitory as your youth

once, but is the eternity that awaits you.

9:47
OK... Time to go. Doesn't look like UPS are going to get here in time. I need to some running shoes and trousers. Newtown, Aber, Blaengarw, Aber. There really needs to be more time in the week. I was invited down to the assembly rehearsals. Wales is so small yet so incredibly difficult to travel around!

Bye!
