Actor/ Actress Callout- Profit Share

 

Spilt Milk Theatre are casting for our next production

We are proud to announce that we will once again be producing a new piece of writing for the Cardiff Fringe Theatre Festival.  We will be producing 'Five Green Bottles' a new piece penned by RWCMD graduate Joe Wiltshire Smith. We are casting for four roles within the piece. Details and breakdown on all characters below.

Five Green Bottles by Joe Wiltshire Smith

"It’s 4am, 1965. Wine is flowing and boredom has set in. The needle on the record skips as dawn breaks. Perhaps  it’s time for a game. But let's not wake Gran up."

A surreal, satirical, carnal-romp of a comedy exploring the sexual awakening of the beat generation in the 1960’s.

Roles:

WOMAN 1: Early 20’s. Mancunian.

Working Class. A spontaneous, powerful, comedic, childish force of nature. Completely detached from reality and prone to drifting off much to the frustration of her boyfriend, “Man 1.” 

Must have/ be able to do a Mancunian accent

MAN 1: 20’s. Glaswegian. Working Class.

The boyfriend of “Woman 1.” Astute , pragmatic, odd and a self-confessed pedant. A highly intelligent, pseudo intellectual with a wicked sense of humour and a very quick temper. 

Must have/ be able to do a Glaswegian Accent.

WOMAN 2: Early Teens to 20’s. Mancunian.

Working Class. Younger sister to “Woman 1.” Hard as nails, no nonsense, sarcastic and says how it is. Married to “Man 2”, she isn’t afraid to speak her mind and threaten to smash his teeth in. 

Must have/ be able to do a Manchester Accent.

MAN 2: Early Teens to 20’s. Mancunian.

Working Class. Husband of “Woman 2.” Absolute lad, loves the footy, loves a pint or twelve however is a little bit thick. Scared of his wife and frequently ignored. 

Must have/ be able to do a Manchester Accent.

Availability:

Rehearsals will take place between the 27th of April and 7th of June, as well as the  performance dates on the 8th and 9th of June.

Auditions:

Auditions will take place on the 21st and 22nd of April at the WMC, Cardiff.

Audition Requirements:

For the audition we would like you to prepare:

  • A short monologue no more than 2 Minutes in length.
  • A script extract which will be provided on confirmation of audition

Pay:

This production will be a profit share with all profits from the production being split equally between cast members.
