A unique experience for 16-25 year old who identify themselves as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender or Questioning (LGBTQ), working with award-winning performance artist Mark Storor (The Fat Girl gets a Haircut and Other Stories - pictured) and a professional circus artist.
Throughout the 10 days, participants will use theatre and circus to explore themes of love, acceptance, joy and loss drawing on their own experiences. We are looking for participants with an open mind and a willingness to get involved. No previous performance experience is necessary.
This residency will lead to a longer project that will platform the voices of LGBTQ young people from across the UK and is a co-production between Roundhouse and Wales Millennium Centre. This project is FREE and lunch will be provided.
Exact timings and location are to be confirmed but workshops will be in central Cardiff during week days
If you would like to be part of this exciting project, please get in touch for an enrolment form via email to sarah.roberts@wmc.org.uk by Mon 29 July.
Thanks Catrin - that's good to know!
I'd love to do a circus workshop. Nobody ever offers circus workshops for people who are in their thirties. Just in case you're thinking of things for the future...you know...unconsidered projects...circus skills workshops for people who are in their thirties would get you at least one enthusiastic (but totally rubbish) volunteer.
It sounds ace - I hope it goes well.
