Hi there! Sorry for the delay in confirming either way, but I've been away from the computer a lot the last week or so - it's like torture for me....I'm not going to be able to make next week now I'm afraid as I'm going away for the week for a little holiday. Hope it goes well though and looking forward to reading about it on yr blog - fingers crossed I'll be here for the next one

ahhh, I don't think I ever met Tony. Oh cssd does have that affect on you, as soon as I walked through the glass doors at the top of the stairs, I knew it was the college for me. I loved every minute and yes I think there are tight bonds, I must have loved it, as Ive been back there to work for them twice ! hahaha :O)
Hi Catherine,
My tutors were mainly Peter McCoy, he's still there, Jessica Bowles and Mike Seignor, I know they are after a new LX lecturer, so I guess he's left or leaving. What was Tony's specialism? Did you work for CSSD or study there?
Hi Catherine - just took a look at the sandpit info and the Hide and Seek website. Sorry to be thick, but I don't really understand how it works/what it's about. :-s
Alas won't have time to bake a cake (although I've got loads of butter cream...)+ by September the next batch of wine will be ready - so you'll have to wait until then!
See you at the games (which kind of sounds Olympian!)
Ooh how exciting! I've never been part of one of these thingamebobs before. Forgive me if I bumble about and knock things over to start, it may be a while before I work out how to hang with the cool kids at the party! I've managed to avoid Facebook to date but this seems far more sophisticated and erudite!
I'm glad you got the info I popped through your door - hope you had a lovely rest of your weekend. Whilst you were at the gym, I was indeed at the market, hoovering up all the freebie-nibbles for my lunch - cake at one stall, cheese at the next, curry at the next...they'll catch me one day! Subsequently, my own beach body will have to wait until next summer now!
I'm off to teach in Somerset for the rest of the week but when I get back maybe we could meet for coffee and I can show you (or warn you about!) some of Riverside's hotspots.
My stepfather owns Stage Lighting Services and my partner Huw is the senior technitian at Stage Sound Services its sister (or brother!) company.
He's tending to do more an more AV work these days, mainly for West End shows, but it's school show season approaching so he's preparing to go back to his sound routes for a few weeks at least! It's mad that one week he can be in a big London theatre working with top directors and designers and the next he's at a tiny primary school in Wales! Variety is the spice of life i suppose!
Hi Catherine, no worries about not getting more time to chat. It was always going to be a tight day. The actress I was with was Linda Rooke and we just bumped into each other there having not seen each other for ten years. She's based in Bristol and is a very strong actor. The touring production we worked on was Emigrants by Peter Sheridan and directed by Jim Sheridan - for Pirate Jenny Theatre Company.
I very much enjoyed the conference and was amused to be given a round of applause just for being a man! More importantly I was really chuffed that my proposal for conference to write to Mark Thompson at the BBC was so enthusiatically received and subsequently taken up!
I was impressed by Oona King and the woman from the Fawcett Society particulary. I thought the director's panel fell apart a bit sadly but had a laugh with Sue Parrish on the phone about it last night. She was very pleased the conference had made it into the Guardian and a bit overwhelmed by everyone's urgency to get on and make things happen. The sort of 'more please' thing that of course Sphinx aren't resourced to deliver.
I had an idea on my late drive back last night. What do you think about asking the Fawcett woman (haven't got her name to hand) and Oona King to contribute guest blogs to the NTW site on two topics... the Gender Equality Duty and Diversity? (picking up ont the thread John started)
Hi Catherine. Would be great to see you in London - let someone at Theatr Iolo know when you're coming. And yes, I do indeed get to go to Korea - was also there last year with Kevin doing a recce for this year and holidaying afterwards ... a fascinating place - if somewhat humid in monsoon season!!
