Event Description

‘Bee Detective’ is a funny, fast paced and physical show which invites you into the inner sanctum of a bee hive to help solve a honeybee murder mystery. For deaf and hearing children aged 6 and upwards.

It’s the Queen Bee’s birthday! There should be cake, goodie bags and dancing but the bees have disappeared and the party can't go ahead. The Queen Bee’s daughter, Sophie Bee is smart, brave and ready - all the qualities an intrepid detective needs. She also has an annoying little brother – the last thing any detective needs.

Staged in a bee-autiful tent in parks and outdoor spaces, adults and children alike will love this interactive, multisensory adventure with cartoons, colourful captions, actors speaking and signing, buzzing seats and ‘waggle dancing’!

Tin Bath is a theatre company formed by Sophie Woolley and director Gemma Fairlie. The company produces exciting interactive theatre that is accessible to deaf and hard of hearing people. They have created a unique way of captioning theatre that uses animation, graphics, text and visual jokes. The result is part video game, part cartoon and entertaining to all. This is the company’s first show for children.

Bee Detective has been commissioned by  the Unlimited programme, part of the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad.
