Inspired by Haruki Murakami's dark but beautifully tender novel, Norwegian Wood, choreographer James Cousins presents Without Stars and There We Have Been. Adding his own unique quality to the themes of love, loss and friendship from the Japanese story, he has created a rich and powerful double-bill for the company's first UK tour.

Described as "one of the UK's most promising choreographic talents" by Matthew Bourne, Cousins has created work for the National Ballet of Chile, Scottish Ballet and the Royal Ballet of Flanders amongst others. The inaugural winner of Matthew Bourne's New Adventures Choreography Award, he was chosen for his "refreshing desire to entertain" and is known for dynamic, emotional and clever choreography which finds new and interesting ways to move the body and bring dancers together.
