This moving play explores the relationship between a father and daughter when Dad is diagnosed with dementia. Based on Val Ormrod’s touching memoir, In My Father’s Memory, the play uses verbatim dialogue to tell the story of the onset of Dad’s dementia whilst also exploring his past life as a younger man who lived through a tumultuous period of history.
Dad’s daughter Helen works through stages of denial, frustration, and desperation until her love for her father eventually leads her to acceptance, and to find moments of joy in their new reality.
The play is a celebration of life and family love which survives even the toughest times.
