Dear All
Invitation: Wales in Edinburgh Training Day – 3 July
Wales Millennium Centre in partnership with Wales Arts International, the British Council and Arts Council of Wales are delighted to be hosting an informal training session for Welsh theatre companies on the joys and pitfalls of taking work to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and touring work internationally.
The afternoon will consist of speakers from a range of theatre companies, who will offer advice and personal experience on both the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and international touring on different scales. These will be interactive sessions, so there will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions and share experiences.
Confirmed contributors include Andrew Jones (British Council - Adviser, Drama and Dance Central & Eastern Europe, Scandinavia and North America), Judith Dimant (Producer – Complicite), Helen Hillman (former Associate Producer (Touring) – Shakespeare’s Globe) and Lisa Maguire (Executive Producer National Theatre Wales and previously Producer for Frantic Assembly).
Date:
3 July 2013
Location:
Wales Millennium Centre - room TBC
Provisional Timings:
2.30 – 4pm Edinburgh Fringe Festival – for companies that are taking work in 2013, or planning to take work to the festival in the future.
4 – 4.30pm Tea break
4.30 – 6pm International touring – insight into planning and managing international work.
Following the session we’d also like you to help us celebrate our co-production of LIONBOY with Complicite. This will be their first visit to the Centre and we’d are delighted to be able to offer you 2 tickets for the evening performance on Wednesday 3rd July at 7:00pm (subject to availability).
