What I do:
Programme Leader in Applied Drama at the University of Wales, Newport and Senior Lecturer in English and Creative Writing and Programme Leader for Applied Drama at the University of Wales, Newport.
A little more about me:
I trained as an actor at the Central School of Speech and Drama, London and as a Theatre Director at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. I have worked professionally both as an actor and theatre director, mostly in music theatre before doing a degree [first class hons in English and History] after which I moved into writing, holding an MA in playwriting studies from Birmingham University. I also worked in the Middle East (Jordan) for ten years as director for the Royal Theatre Co and was artist in residence at the Amman Baccalaureate School setting up a drama department at primary and secondary level as well as producing theatre shows for young people. I also worked as a freelance Arts reviewer and feature writer for the Jerusalem Star.

Projects I’m working on:
I am currently doing a PhD practice research in post dramatic theatre and human consciousness and am directing a new play at the Riverfront Theatre May 2012 as part of my research. I am also re drafting an educational musical The Forgotten for seven actors to take on tour around SE Wales. I am also writing a gothic screenplay for and about children and have just completed a radio drama The People's Will (about an intellectual terrorist group in 19th century Russia).
