August 012 are casting for their next production, Les Miserables by Victor Hugo.

Working in collaboration with Rubicon dancers and advised by Napoleonic reenactors we will present the nineteen chapters Victor Hugo dedicated to the battle of Waterloo.

Following the beauty and precision of Hugo’s writing we'll explore the complex, absurd and ultimately bitter English victory, whose outcome shocked both the victorious and the vanquished and sent Europe into turmoil.

Alongside Brexit.

Mathilde Lopez will be directing and Matteo Marfoglia will choreograph.

We are looking for 3 playful and versatile actors good at devising and excellent at reading prose.

Auditions: Daytime, 22nd-23rd January 2019

Role Specification:

1. Female, any ethnicity 40-70, preferably Welsh speaker
2. Male, any ethnicity 20-40, good at rhythm, ideally able to drum or fast at picking it up.
3. Female, any ethnicity, preferably EU Nationals with another first language than English, 20-40.

Rehearsals: 11th-23rd March in Cardiff (with possible additional days 6th,7th, 8th March paid at daily rate)

Run: 27th-30th March 2019 at Chapter Arts Centre, Cardiff

Fees: £500 per week plus relocation lump sum for non-local performers.
