NTW Community was born with National Theatre Wales. It went online as an innovative, lively digital space where people could connect - we thought of it as our digital equivalent of a venue. Theatre-makers, artists, audiences, activists, TEAM and community members - anybody who wanted to be there - could join, share and debate ideas, ask questions and advice or talk about their work.

In recent years, as the age of social media has taken hold of the way we share and communicate online, we’ve seen the use of the site change. These days it tends to act as an online noticeboard attached to our website.

We all know the huge leaps digital spaces and platforms have made since NTW Community launched over a decade ago. Not to mention the huge shift in how audiences engage with work and the needs of artists and theatre-makers. So, last year we invited theatre-makers to join us for a series of consultations around Wales and online to talk about the future of digital connection.

Their feedback showed that the NTW Community is no longer the most effective tool for digital connection between artists, audiences and communities, so we have decided to close the page on 20 May.

There are still lots of ways you can connect with us and with others:

Thanks for being part of the NTW Community and we look forward to keeping in touch.
