With `The Persians' the National Theatre has finally established itself as our National Theatre. Inspired setting gave new significance to the oldest surviving play. Vibrant new translation matched by vibrant acting. Until now, Wales has recently been without a first class producting company south of Mold. You are performing a wonderful service in giving Wales access to new and classical plays of which we have been starved for years. Delighted that you are preparing Chekhov.

Slightly worried that, had you performed the same play in Theatr Brycheinog itself, no-one would have come. It offers virtually no serious drama, and when it tries, audiences are thin.
In an ideal world, you would base yourselves at Theatr Brycheiniog and work outwards from that base: cannot be that many inspired locations to match the old Library in Swansea or the Sennybridge training site....
