Calling Swansea singers to form a WNO community choir to take part in NTW02- Shelf Life

Let your voice be heard!
Welsh National Opera is looking for over 100 enthusiastic singers to form a community choir to perform in an exciting new performance project, Shelf Life.

The community choir will work alongside Volcano Theatre and National Theatre Wales in a performance project that will take over the evocative domed reading room of Swansea’s Old Library.

Tracing music back to it roots, and exploring the relationship music has with words,
composer Peter Swaffer Reynolds will create a score of song and sounds that will be
performed by a 100 strong choir led by music director, Kate Woolveridge.

Join us to become part of this story!

You need to:
• Love singing
• Love performing
• Be 16 years or older
• Be committed to attending rehearsals on Thursdays in February and March
• Be available for three performance days per week from 5 to 25 April 2010 (performance times are evenings and weekends. Each performance lasts approx 30 minutes).

Although music will be given out, there is no need to be able to read music, as you will learn by ear. This is a great opportunity to perform in something a little different.

Want to give it a go?
Why not come along to a taster session in January to find out more about the projects, hear the music and meet the team.
