Can Yr Adar/Birdsong at Theatre Mwldan Cardigan

Last night I went to see 'Can yr Adar/Birdsong' and afterwards joined in on my first critical chinwag.

The show tells a story of a Welsh rainforest found in Powys Wales. A story told through the medium of soul-folk and jazz. The main focus being on an amazing young singer called Kizzy Crawford who was accompanied by a beautiful orchestral backdrop.

I had no idea what to expect from this performance, but was very pleasantly surprised. The use of intertwining songs and verses through the medium of Welsh and English was unexpected and absolutely beautiful. Being a Welsh speaker and having the ability to understand both languages was useful but by no means necessary, it was very easy to just let myself be swept away by the beautiful and cleverly composed score and in turn by Kizzy herself, who was absolutely captivating.

All in all I had a thoroughly enjoyable evening and would highly recommend going to see this spectacular performance.
