Thanks carmen, it was a very strange place to be. The army continued to use the village during the rehearsal process and there were times when the training exercises taking place there were more theatrical and dramatic than the show being rehearsed. Burning tanks and machine gun fire provided a backdrop to Greek tragedy, with a supporting cast of tolerant sheep. The soundtrack to the film is composed using sounds from the location, including machine guns and missiles.
spooky....love the editing and film technique used here, and the sky - very dramatic epitomizes the atmosphere of the Persians. Brings back memories of a displaced people watching a drama unfold in a dark and wet haunting battlefield.
