The Egg, Bear Trap Theatre, Oxford Playhouse and Wales Millennium Centre are looking to appoint an ambitious, creative team for their forthcoming production Josephine for young audiences (aged 8 to 12), based on the life of African-American activist and entertainer Josephine Baker, written by Leona Allen and Jesse Briton. Applications are particularly encouraged from underrepresented groups.

We currently seeking to appoint a: Lighting Designer, Sound Designer and Set, Props & Costume Designer who can collaborate with the rest of the creative team and co-producing partners to construct exciting, robust and flexible designsthat are scalable for different venues (full touring schedule available on request) drawing on Josephine’s remarkable life combining 1920’s Harlem Jazz and Parisian High Society influences. The production will tour to a mix of theatres, arts centre and schools, across England and Wales

Dates

Rehearsals:  15th February – 5th March 2021
Production week (including performances at the egg):  8th – 14th March

Creative learning portal, Filming:  15th – 19th March (TBC)
Autumn 2021 Tour:   27th September – 14th November 2021*
Spring 2022 Tour:     3 weeks March – April 2022*
