MCE wrap-up workshop and My Bed, My Universe development workshop

Last MCE for the year was on Saturday.  We had a great bunch of people interested in joining next year come along for a taster workshop to see what Massive's all about.  Traditional start with a highly competitive round of Four-Square, then we did a bit of Mr Hit, skipping, Clear the Space, and some Flocking from which we made some short peices.  3 out of 4 groups chose the same music, and it was interesting to see how different the moods were of each piece even though they used the same music.  After that we had an (EPIC) picnic in the park beofre breaking up for the year.

Sunday saw another script development workshop for Gary Henderson's play My Bed, My Universe.  Whereas the last workshop was focused a lot on music and singing, we worked more with dialogue and spoken word in this session.  We were given lists compiled from the surveys Gary conducted, sorted into information around mothers/fathers/grandparents, brothers/sisters/cousins, streets, and houses, and from there made some naturalistic and some stylised short pieces.  A fun and productive day, even though some of us were not as awake as we would have liked!
