I'm working on sound design ideas for the Shadow Warriors research project about the Welsh mining industry. I really want to incorporate this great song written by the late Gil Scott-Heron:

Last night I visited the Mynyddislwyn Male Choir at their rehearsal room in Penmaen Chapel, Oakdale. Carys Wynne has done an amazing job of arranging the song for them and they are practicing it ready to try it out on the Donald Gordon stage next week.

We also worked with some words written by Chris Kinsey, I'm looking forward to placing the choir on stage and building some rhythmic loops from Chris' poetry.

massive tune! Hope you haven't left out Do do do doo doo do do do do doo? - that's my favorite bit, and sounds amazing with loads of voices . Anyway, can't touch Gil, but I just remembered this one too. Beautiful song written by Jean Ritchie. You probably know it already. Couldn't find Michelle Shocked version on line, which I love, but  this one is pretty good , even though it stops short
