Who we are:
Fio is a Cardiff based theatre company working across the UK and internationally, bringing world class socio-political stories to local audiences. Fio makes fearless theatre; work that tears down stereotypes and challenges injustice. We celebrate individuality and offer everybody – whatever their story – a chance to make their mark on the world. Fio creates creative projects with people of all ages, religions and backgrounds, using performance techniques to help them tell stories that are as momentous and unique as they are themselves.
Under the direction of Fio, the Outreach Officer would actively promote and engage with new diverse audiences with a particular focus on those with connections to Somalia for ‘The Orchard of Lost Souls’ Research and Development Project, in person and through online platforms. The following duties would also be expected:
£1500 total at a daily rate of £80 (fixed term contract)
14 October - 14 December 2019 (9 weeks)
With the possibility of longer term employment to assist the needs of the UK tour of The Orchards of Lost Souls, taking place in 2020/2021.
It is imagined the time commitment will be 2 days a week with some flexibility required to meet the demands of the project in busier periods i.e. during the facilitation of the community exchange events. In this way, this makes the role more flexible, as it will inevitably involve remote working, as well as office work. The schedule of work will be agreed upon confirmation of success of the applicant.
If you meet the above criteria and would like to apply or find out more about the role, please email firstname.lastname@example.org with your CV and cover letter outlining why this role is for you.
Closing Date for Applications: Monday 30th September 2019
Interview Date: Monday 7th October 2019
