Pen and Paper Theatre Co. CYT. Presents Scratch Night - With a difference!

Pen and Paper Theatre Co. A brand spanking new theatre company in the Vale of Glamorgan is holding their first scratch night, but with a twist!

We are so excited about this event and here is why…

Firstly... It is FREE, although if you would like to make a donation during the evening to assist us in ensuring we can secure the future of these and other events, we would be very thankful (Not a necessity).

Our Scratch Night is all about networking and development, we believe as artists in the industry networking is crucial, and development is just second nature; and what a better way to bring the both together!

This Scratch Night will run a little different to the typical set up of most scratch nights, in the way that the evening will take place as workshop sessions with the writers. As writers you have created work for stage and sometimes it can be hard to know exactly how this play may work or even sound. Writers will be given actors based on their scripting needs and will be able to workshop their plays with these actors, gaining a valuable insight, practical experience and feedback about their play.

Writers will spend their time presenting their play to the given actors, followed by a read through and workshop on the text, actors can then have an opportunity to give feedback and share ideas with the writer.

All the while working and networking with other writers, performers and artists.

We hope this event will help the writers to work on their work, while giving actors opportunities to build up skills and repertoires.

The evening is promised to be relaxed, and enjoyable under a respectable working environment at Arts Central Gallery Barry. The director of Pen and Paper Theatre Co. will be co-ordinating the event and will be on hand to provide support at all times.

So do you think you have some work that would benefit from this workshop style scratch? Do you want to meet new writers, other actors and get your teeth into more work? Th
