Play, space and performance:

This free workshop took place on the 8th and 9th of May. We used lightweight modular structures and simple physical vocabularies to explore interactive relationships between bodies and the built environment. Jointly led by Jenny Hall, Creative Director of Craftedspace, and Andrew Filmer, lecturer in the Dept. of Theatre, Film and Television at Aberystwyth University, the workshop explored intersections between architecture, construction and theatre. Over two days we experimented with scale, basic architectural forms, and time-based actions to create spaces, scenes, and situations in which the playful construction and manipulation of modular structures was itself the performance.
