Summer School Practitioners Announced
We've now had the RSC practitioners confirmed for this course. They are...
Victoria Williams: Voice practitioner Victoria was part of the voice team for the hugely successful, Olivier award winning Matilda. She will be concentrating on vocal work and text analysis.
Anna Morrissey: Has been working with the Royal Shakespeare Company since 2006 working to set up the movement team. She will be concentrating on physicalising the text.
Helen Leblique: Has worked as Assistant Director with Michael Boyd at the RSC. She will be concentrating on pulling together the techniques described above into short scenes to explore how these skills can be implemented.
Join practitioners from the world-class Royal Shakespeare Company for a series of intensive workshops.
Throughout the week you will work to explore and unlock the language of Shakespeare and bring the text to life. The course will go on to explore how one approaches staging a Shakespeare production.

Alternatively you can join professional Director Ben Humphrey for jam-packed course that is designed to take your knowledge and practice of theatre to a whole new level. Devising, acting, vocal-work, mask-work, physical theatre and text study will be woven into a week of intense and exciting work that will give you an insight into contemporary theatre practices as well as improving theatrical stamina and dexterity in all aspects of your performance.
Ben Humphrey: Ben is currently Artistic Director of the award winning Swan Youth TheatreAssociate Director of the Worcester Repertory Company. Having originally trained as an actor at the prestigious Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, Ben has gone on to have a very successful career in theatre, radio and TV before stepping backstage to take the helm on various professional productions. He is also one of the country's most popular adjudicators and has strong links with drama training for the DAW. He was the co-founder of the Actor's Institute in Bristol, Director of the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School's Youth Theatre and is also an Associate Research fellow with the University of Worcester.
Techniques learnt and implemented on the course are directly transferable to both amateur and professional theatre.
