I've made it to the end of week one.

Starting a new job (and moving house in the same week (just in case I haven't drummed it into you enough) can be intimidating, especially for a drama queen such as me... but I have survived it and i am actually smiling at the end!

What has made this week so exciting and made the new job shock manageable is hearing from the NTW team about the productions I am going to get to be a part of. From RAW Material to Mametz and onwards, honestly, this is going to be such a good year for me and for National Theatre Wales.

For starters, RAW MATERIAL will be the first production i experience as a staff member. I've never been to Laugharne, and from what my Grampa has just told me about the place, it is somewhere you just have to experience.

Mametz chimes with me on a personal level, having recently discovered that my Great Grandfather fought in WWI as a very young man in some of the most brutal battles, including the blood bath at Gallipoli. Reading the Mametz Wood poem, hearing the production plans, and brushing up on my history - both family and general- this evening with my grandfather has really made me think that there must be so many other people out there with similar family history and stories to share. I'll be blogging about my family soon, and i hope some of you out there will share your stories too.

There is definitely a lot to learn over the coming months, and it's going to be quite a while before I feel fully comfortable given the huge life changes I've made, but I am on the right track and working with a fantastic bunch of people for sure.

So here's to the beginning of something amazing!
