Young Critics Juniors review Theatr na nOgs 'We Need Bees'

The Young Critics Juniors Scheme recently ran a creative writing workshop at Newton Primary,Porthcawl,Bridgend.

The workshop was supported by poet Rhian Edwards and Literature Wales.

The YC JR's wrote a series of poems as a response to the production a selection of which are posted below. They also used a comic book format to illustrate their own personal highlights from the production.

If you are an organisation that works with young people and you would be interested in getting involved with the scheme please do get in touch.

Year 1

I particularly liked Bertie Bee,

Because he liked to smile with glee.

I also liked the Crab Spider,

He probably likes apple cider.

I also liked Blue the Butterfly,

Particularly as he fluttered by.

I also liked Woody the Bird,

When it was la la la that I heard!

I particularly liked the way the spider moved from side to side,

And I particularly liked the bit where Bron was saved.

Year 2

I really like Bertie Bee,

And the Apple badge he wanted to see.

Then we met the Sergeant Major,

He started off odd and just got stranger!

I liked the story when the bird barked like a puppy,

That was the bit that was extremely funny.

We all agree we were scared when the Spider nearly ate Bron,

Luckily things didn't go to terribly wrong.
