JOB DESCRIPTION: PRODUCTION MANAGER
Belarus Free Theatre seeks a dedicated Production Manager to lead on all production work in our 2015 season, including UK and international touring.
The season will run from March – November 2015.
The Production Manager will work with the Directors and Producers to plan the delivery of each project and will see each project through from preparation to delivery and reporting.

All plays presented next year have been performed by the company before. Our Stage Manager in Belarus will train a production team of 4 people in preparation for the Festival to supply dedicated production support from people who are familiar with each show.
Schedule
January – March, May – July and October 2015: PRE-PRODUCTION MEETINGS AND PREP, London
29 March – 19 April 2015: RESIDENCY 1, Falmouth University
Re-rehearsal of 2x productions that will be presented as part of the Festival
19 July – 28 August 2015: RESIDENCY 2, Falmouth University
Re-rehearsal of 12x productions that will be presented as part of the Festival and UK Tour
29 August – 4 October 2013: UK TOUR (Red Forest, merry christmas, Ms Meadows and Price of Money)
Multiple venues including: Nottingham Playhouse, Contact Theatre, Journeys Festival, West Yorkshire Playhouse and Theatre Royal, Plymouth
18 – 25 October 2015: MELBOURNE FESTIVAL (TBC)
30 October – 18 November 2015: FESTIVAL, various “underground” London venues as well as the Albany and Young Vic theatre
1st week: 10 performances of 10 plays in underground venues and at the Albany theatre. 2nd week: 6 performances of 3 plays at the Young Vic.
Salary: £550 per week for the weeks of engagement plus preparation time.
Working Hours: As scheduled and required.
Evenings and weekend work may be required.
PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT
Work closely with the Stage Manager, Assistant Director and production team from Belarus in order to present all projects on time and meeting all requirements of the artistic team.
Liaise closely with the General Manager/Producer, Campaigns Manager and Festival Producer in order to prepare for all projects efficiently.
Attend all site visits and ensure each venue is prepared for the allocated production. For the underground festival this will include set up of audience space as well as stage.
Oversee the get in and strike down of all production elements for each performance.
Manage all freight of production elements: including set, props, costume and consumables as required to touring venues.
Deliver production elements by van where necessary to venues or to the storage facility.
Oversee storage of all production elements at the company’s prop store and ensure proper access throughout the year.
Work closely with the Directors and Producer to ensure that all requirements are met.
Liaise with venue technicians and staff
Manage all issues as they arise
Write up performance reports and send to relevant company members
Write up production schedules and send to the Producer at least 1 month before the start of the production.
Managing the staff and production schedule throughout the process
Write up or update as necessary all technical riders for each production including international technical riders and share with General Manager / Producer before the end of the engagement.
Write up risk assessments for each venue or run.
Help with preparations for after show discussions or events
Provide the Producers with a full debrief of each project
FINANCIAL
Manage the production budget during the project and keep the project within budget
Ensure that production costs are kept to a minimum, and that wherever possible cost cutting steps are taken.
Report to the General Manager / Producer or Festival Producer on all purchases and expenses, including all receipts
GENERAL
Be available to the company as needed throughout the entire engagement period
PERSONAL SPECIFICATION
Essential
At least 5 years professional theatre production experience, and at least 2 years production management experience
Advanced Health and Safety training
Clean driver’s license
Meticulous attention to detail
Ability to prioritize and work to strict deadlines
Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken
A high standard of organisation and efficiency
The ability to lead and manage a large team

Experience of organising events
Experience of driving vans
